Event films andaftermovies

We film and photograph your event with two people on site, and you get a film in both landscape and portrait. It starts at SEK 40,000: a photographer, a filmmaker, 30 finished photos, a simpler aftermovie and two rounds of feedback. The film can be ready the day after.

01Included

What does an event film include?

  1. 01

    One film, landscape and portrait

Almost always a single film of about two minutes, delivered in both landscape and portrait so that it works on a big screen, on the web and in social media. We suggest the length and the tone.

  2. 02

    Photos you choose yourselves

We take around 1,000 photos and pick about 100 favourites. They are roughly edited and sent to you as a preview, and you choose the 30 that get full retouching. You get those finished, and the rest of the favourites roughly edited.

  3. 03

    Two people on site

A photographer and a filmmaker. We almost always say no to one person doing both: you can only hold one camera at a time, you miss things and you end up in the wrong mode. If the budget is tight, we put the experience where it matters most, with an experienced person on the main medium and a junior on the other.

  4. 04

    Ready for weather

If it rains we bring rain gear. Many people want fine weather at their event, so we often swap the sky in the edit.

  5. 05

Graphics and film for the arena's screens

If the event is big we also make what is shown on site. At Nordic Star Cup we made 64 cut-out player portraits, countdowns, sponsor loops and the film shown in the arena before the show, for the arena's three kinds of screens.

  6. 06

    Delivery when you need it

The same evening you can have a photo or two for social media. The day after you can have the film, which is usually no problem because an event film is fairly simple to cut. Something extraordinary takes about three days.

How we count an event

An example: your company's Christmas party or a trade fair, with a photographer and a filmmaker. It is not one particular client job, but it is how we count.

Christmas party or trade fair

Added up: a full day on site for both the photographer and the filmmaker, a day of work on the photos and one to three on the film. That makes four to six working days. If the event runs over, and many do, we recount. Travel is counted separately. How we count 3D jobs, hour by hour, is in What does a 3D film cost?.

03Process

How an event film gets made

  1. 1

    You tell us, we ask

You get in touch about the event. We ask straight away for the date, the times, the schedule for the day and the place, and when you need the film and the photos. From that we count the hours on site, and travel.

  2. 2

    Two on site

A photographer and a filmmaker. We often count a full day, even if the event is shorter, since many events run past eight hours and sometimes end late at night.

  3. 3

    Selection and edit

The photos go from about 1,000 to about 100 favourites, which you see as a preview. You choose the ones that get full retouching. The film is edited over one to three days, depending on how far you want to go.

  4. 4

    Delivery

The film in both landscape and portrait, and the photos. Two rounds of feedback are included.

04Price

06FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does an event film cost?

From SEK 40,000. That covers a photographer and a filmmaker on site, 30 finished photos, a simpler aftermovie and two rounds of feedback. More hours on site, more editing days, faster delivery, more cutdowns, travel, late evenings and effects push it up.

How many of you are on site?

Two, a photographer and a filmmaker. We almost always say no to one person doing both, because you can only hold one camera at a time. If the budget is tight we put the experience where it matters most.

How fast do we get the film?

The day after if you need it, and a photo or two the same evening.

How long is the film, and which formats do we get?

Usually a single film of about two minutes, delivered in both landscape and portrait. We suggest the length and the tone. If you want more cutdowns, for example short clips for social media, we will count that in.

How many photos do we get?

We take around 1,000 photos and pick about 100 favourites, which we roughly edit and send as a preview. You choose 30 that get full retouching, and you get those finished. The price from SEK 40,000 includes 30 delivered photos.

How many rounds of feedback are included?

Two. That is our benchmark, and it can vary from case to case.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

We are ready for weather: if it rains we have rain gear, and we often swap the sky in post. At a festival in near-full storm we shot from the right angles, made smart choices on site and swapped the sky afterwards. The film became a lovely summer festival.

What do you need to know before the event?

Date, times, the schedule for the day and the location, and when you need the film and photos. From that we work out how many hours we need on site, often a full day even if the event is shorter.

What is an aftermovie?

An aftermovie is a short film that shows the mood of an event afterwards, with music and tempo. With us it is usually about two minutes, in both landscape and portrait. It shows the event to those who were not there and makes more people interested next time.

Can you handle big events?

Yes. At Nordic Star Cup at 3Arena we made the aftermovie, the film shown in the arena and the graphics for the arena's three kinds of screens, with 64 cut-out player portraits. The aftermovie was ready two days after the final whistle.

Do you film outside Stockholm?

Yes, we travel to where the event is, and travel is counted in the price. The same summer ghd launched Chronos we went with ghd and Sebastian Professional to Way Out West in Gothenburg and photographed and filmed their presence at the festival.
